Women in Mountaineering

Mountain sports create unforgettable experiences, boost self-confidence and open up new perspectives. Yet women are still significantly under-represented in alpine sports. Together with the Summit Scholarship Foundation, we are committed to enabling more women to access outdoor experiences and alpine challenges. 

Mountain scholarships for greater gender equality in alpine sports 

Every year, the US-based foundation awards scholarships to women in need of financial support who wish to further develop their passion for nature, the outdoors, mountain sports and mountaineering. As a premium partner, we support this mission and help to break down barriers, foster potential and create new opportunities in the mountains. 

From Scholarship to Summit 

The LOWA Matterhorn Adventure 2026 demonstrates what this support can look like in practice. The documentary (title) follows two scholarship recipients, alongside SSF founder Sunny Stroeer and LOWA athlete Ines Papert, on their journey towards an extraordinary challenge. The focus is on courage, personal growth, team spirit and the experience of surpassing one’s own limits.
